Lenten Pretzels

My little helpers!
3 Tablespoons honey
3 cups lukewarm water
2 pkgs active dry yeast (4 1/2 tsps)
2 tsp salt
8 cups flour
Course sea salt
2 eggs beaten
Add the honey to the water; Sprinkle in the yeast and stir until dissolved. Add the 2 tsp salt. Blend in the flour, and knead the dough until smooth.
Cut dough into pieces. Roll them into ropes and make pretzel shapes. (arms crossed in prayer like people used to do many, many years ago) Place pretzels on lightly greased cookie sheets and brush them with beaten egg and sprinkle with sea salt. Bake at 425 degrees for 12 minutes or until golden brown.

About how many pretzels does this recipe make? Also, I have yeast, but it's a jar, rather than packets. Do you know how much yeast is in a packet, so I can make sure to use the correct amount?

Michelle--the recipe makes quite a few, and we usually make them pretty big, I think there were like 10, if you made them smaller, there would be more.

I'm not sure, but I think on the bottle of yeast, it says how much is in a packet...I also have the jar, but am sitting her pumping breast milk and can't get up!! hahah!!
